A Better Life Foundation provide food and medicine and other basic needs to about 80 elderly women excluded from their communities in Burkina Faso and who live under horrible conditions.
These women, for the most part, have been expelled from their families earlier in their lives. Their tragic fate is often the result of superstition, since traditionally there is no such thing as a natural death in Burkina Faso. Often the blame is put on the women, who are then forced to leave and never return to their families and communities. Movements are under way, in Burkina Faso to stop this, but much work is left in order to change the behavior.
